The proportion of trans, non-binary and other gender diverse people is considerably higher in the furry fandom than in the general population, and for good reason: you’d be hard pressed to find a better venue for self-expression on your own terms! In this panel, we explore the divide between fantasy and reality, especially in furry art, and reveal how our preferred character designs, keywords, and fetishes can consciously and sub-consciously share intimate details about ourselves and our community.

Fuzzy Logic Escape Room

12:00pm - 4:00pm Hilton: Escape Room (Plaza)
An Escape Room is like a real life video game puzzle room - teams of up to 8 people will solve puzzles and unlock prized containers by using clues, hints, and tools that everyone finds around the room before the 60-minute timer runs out! Two duplicate rooms are available, so groups of up to 16 can split up to race against each other for a faster time! This year's theme: Your team is a party of heroes looking to be able to advance through a gauntlet of puzzles with an ultimate goal of defeating the skull king while it has been locked down in this reality! You only have one hour before the entrance to your quest crumbles to rubble and the skull king flees to another dimension! Do you have what it takes to win? Entry fee $20 per person - and part of ticket sales will go to the convention's charity! Email [email protected] if you have any questions!

Gender in Furry

Both gender and furry touch on very important aspects of identity. The fandom often provides a space in which to explore one’s gender in a safe manner. Come join us to talk about what gender is and how it interacts with the furry subculture.

My Little Pony: What is it, why is it so popular, and why is it so important?

1:00pm - 2:30pm Marriott: Second Stage (Salon I-II-III)
October 10, 2010 was an interesting day. It was the first day the current generation of My Little Pony aired - called Friendship is Magic - and it inspired a rabid and wild fan base of people who are out to 'Love and Tolerate you to death'. Occasionally we get asked 'Why are you guys fans of a little girls show?'. The show certainly has a fan base of strange characters - like any fan base does - but what draws them to the herd? Why do they take so much inspiration and solace from the show? What is themes does the show have that draws them in? In this panel we examine some of those aspects, with stories from the fans, examples from the show, and personal anecdotes from our own experienced in an effort to share the magic we've experienced as part of the Brony Community, and why many Bronies view that community as separate from furry.
