For tabletop fantasy RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, this includes collaborating with other players, creating backstories, and engaging in imaginative storytelling.
From learning the game’s mechanics, developing a character build, and understanding the rules of the world can be both challenging and rewarding to personal preferences that play a major role, this panel will discuss some of the priorities players seek that ultimately leads to selecting and playing a new fantasy RPG is about discovering a world that sparks imagination, offers meaningful challenges, and provides memorable experiences.

Where does your story take place? In a world similar to our own? In a different time? In a far flung place that only vaguely resembles what we know? Sometimes the setting is the first thing that comes to mind for a story to then be populated, other times it has to be crafted after characters have sprung to life. Join us for a discussion about how to build your world, how to consider its rules, and how much your reader needs to know in the process.

My First TF
6:00pm - 6:55pmDLCC - 334
Furries can point to any number of influences that triggered their fascination with anthropomorphic animals and eventually led them to the furry community...
For many, it was transformation, or “TF” for short: scenes and stories featuring people turning into animals, whether in animation (Pinocchio’s donkey TF), werewolf movies or books like the "Animorphs" series. This “imprinting” generally took place when they were young and particularly impressionable.
At “My First TF,” Joe Strike, aka “Comus,” creator of the transformation-themed website “Circe’s Funhouse” [circesfunhouse.com] reveals how an obscure cartoon first sparked his interest in TF and eventually inspired him to create the Funhouse’s many attractions and characters.
Attendees are welcome to share their own accounts of the very first scene or story that transformed them into TF fans; get ready for an amazing assortment of tales that made furries want to grow tails of their own!

Chasing Weather Balloons
6:45pm - 7:45pmDLCC - Roof
Panel Meets near the Elevator, across the DLCC 3rd floor Skybridge near Art Show and will move to the roof from there.
Like a scavenger hunt? How about from the edge of space?
Twice a day, weather balloons rise high into the atmosphere before bursting and drifting back to Earth. Most people never notice—but the data they collect is critical to the forecasts we rely on every day. Some of us go find them.
This panel is your introduction to the world of weather balloon chasing: what these balloons are, why they’re launched, and how they quietly power modern weather prediction.
We’ll show you how to track them in real time using radio signals and GPS data, predict where they’ll land, and what it takes to actually recover one on the ground. Along the way, we’ll break down the radiosondes they carry and the data they transmit from high above.
To bring it all together, we’ll track a live launch from the Pittsburgh National Weather Service and walk through the process step by step.
Part science, part radio, part scavenger hunt—come see what’s falling out of the sky, and how to go get it.

Inanimate Transformation
7:00pm - 8:00pmDLCC - 334
A Look at Statues, Pool Toys, Plushies, and More
While human to animal transformation is common in stories, human to objects are much more rare. Often they fall down the path of nightmare horror fuel or comedic gag. However, in the furry fandom there has been a new wave of inanimate TF in the form of pool toys, plushie, and living fursuits. Join us for a look at the history of inanimate transformation including: Medusa, Lot’s Wife, I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, Twilight Zone, Turbo Teen, Beauty and the Beast, Gleipnir, Pickle Rick, Reborn as a Vending Machine, furry pool toys, and of course all those wacky kids' commercials from the 1990s to 2000s. PRKC Hosts: Petplay Mosh
8:00pm - 9:30pmDLCC - 403-405
Now’s your chance to gear up and paw-ty like a rockstar with other Anthrocon PetPlayers! A Mosh is a PetPlay event set up like a classic dog park, with toys to play with and mats to roll around on! The difference in a Primrose Kennel Club (PRKC) hosted Mosh and many regular Moshes, is in the *Foundation of Consideration!*
For starters, we “Consider All Types of Pets at PRKC”- including toys for all manner of animals, a divided “soft” and “rough” Play space, and a wristband “play consent” system for Pets to wear during play. PRKC Moshes also provide roll-room, knee-cushions, and easier-to-grab toys for Wheelchair-Bound Pets. Prim instructs hearing-impaired-friendly “Paw Signals” with Pets and Handlers before and during the Mosh to ensure communication happens in and out of Headspace.
At a PRKC Mosh, we constantly monitor our players to ensure they are respecting others’ consent and boundaries, as well as their health and safety. We’re not afraid to put you in the Dog House (and/or report you to Security) for being disrespectful, inappropriate, or making others uncomfortable. Remember: Kink and Fetish Events ≠ Sexual Consent, so please do not attend with the intent of “meeting a hookup.”
Don’t be shy, come out and play! We can’t wait to meet you!

Confessions of a Greymuzzle
9:30am - 10:25amDLCC - 316
“Furry has no official birthday,” says Joe Strike, author of Furry Nation: The True Story of America’s Most Misunderstood Subculture, and Furry Planet: A World Gone Wild. “But it was most likely born at mid-1980s sci-fi conventions when fans of anthropomorphic animals gathered after hours to share furry art and talk about their favorite cartoons.
“I wasn’t present at furry’s creation, but I discovered it on “day three” as it were.
Actually, furry discovered me in 1988 when I received a surprise invitation to the very first east coast furry party at a Philadelphia sci-fi convention.
“In the decades since I’ve watched furry grow from a few hundred in the US to a global phenomenon; furry conventions now take place in numerous countries, attracting thousands of people across the planet—and most of them, like myself were already fascinated with anthro animals before discovering they were part of a worldwide community!”
"Confessions of a Greymuzzle" (a term used to describe older furs) takes a wide-ranging look at furry’s history, including:
- How it all began: the forgotten “funny animal” comic books that inspired the first furry artists;
- Invasion of the fursuiters
- The media take notice (for better—but mostly for worse)
- Respectability: just around the corner—maybe?

Remembering “Anthrocoon” (Bob Nelson)
9:30am - 10:25amDLCC - 335
We will honor and pay tribute to a “FURst Fandom” Furry who loved Anthrocon and attended each year from its humble beginnings in Albany, NY 1997 to his last Anthrocon in 2024 - a few months before he suffered a heart attack which led to his untimely death on January 4th, 2025 at age 62.
He loved Anthrocon and Pittsburgh so much, Bob’s fursona name reflected his dual love for Raccoons and this con. Bob was featured in Joe Strike’s book “FURRY NATION,” hosted panels at Anthrocon and various Northeast U.S. furry conventions.
Bob “Anthrocoon” hosted the “Classic Cartoons” panel at AC for many years, and co-hosted other panels focused on Greymuzzles and Disney’s Zootopia.
We will honor “Anthrocoon” with photos, videos and guest interaction. Anyone who knew Bob is welcome to attend and say a few words.
If it wasn’t for “Anthrocoon” - I wouldn’t had attended Anthrocon 2024 “AnthroCoaster”.
This is my tribute to an amazing Friend and Furry.

Together, we bring years of hands-on experience, one has been building costumes since 2018, and the other since 2021, with particular attention to material testing, mobility, and durability.
As the founders of Wear-Wolves, we specialize in custom fursuits, puppets, and foam-based builds. Through our projects, we’ve gained valuable insight into how materials and costumes perform in busy convention settings, and how to combine different materials from various creative communities into unique solutions for costume builds.
We love to give back to the maker community by sharing lessons learned and troubleshooting techniques through panels, workshops, and online conversations, aiming to make things easier for new makers by sharing what we wish we’d known at the beginning.

TF or Pass
11:30am - 12:25pmDLCC - 406 "Lecture Hall 1"
Are you tired of the cliche "Smash or Pass" that everyone seems to be doing? Why not try out TF or Pass!
In this game I will show you a character, whether it be a fursona, a character from media or anything else, and the audience will need to let us know if they would want to TF (Transform) into said character! We will then ask a few people from the audience to speak up and justify their decision! Let us know why you'd want to become that character, or maybe why you wouldn't want to become them!
Do you want to be them because you want to have their tail? Maybe you want some ability they have? Maybe you just find them attractive and want to be them for that reason! Or maybe you don't want to be them because they have no arms, or some other reason! (But please keep your reasons SFW!)
Round Two will also feature the Commitment Round! Someone from the audience will come up and 'commit' to a transformation before they've even seen it. Once revealed, they have to try and justify it to the audience, even if it's something unusual!
There may be more ways to twist the topic of TF or Pass as well!
Let's all have some fun discussing the pros and cons to transforming into various different things, and do your best to convince others you are making the right choice!

Authenticity, Society, and Furries
5:00pm - 5:55pmDLCC - 333
There's a lot of advice out there about personal growth, and individualistic pursuits of a healthier way of living as your authentic self. While this approach can be helpful, the speaker believes it's missing an important piece of context about this pursuit: the society we live in and the ideas it has placed in our heads about how we "should" live, and how these ideas can be at odds with a more authentic, attuned way of living. This panel aims to present the rest of the context, because with understanding comes empowerment. Knowing what we've learned empowers us to choose what to unlearn, and also to form communities that reflect our authentic values in a world that seems determined to suppress them. Questions and audience engagement encouraged!

Beware! Calcium Beyond These Trees-Skull Furs Meet
5:00pm - 5:50pmHall C - "AREA B"
One day at your local tavern (or your catering of choice if you're not much of a tavern person), you heard the rumor from a quiet table that one spot in the vast woods that cover the DLCC was planned to be the hotspot of peculiar animals around this time. Out of curiosity, you decided to investigate these claims and made your way to the supposed meeting spot and discovered that these creatures are none other than skull furs, creatures that--on the inside--aren't unlike you and I!
You'll experience the following at this little meet & greet:
-An opportunity to make new friends, reconnect with old friends, and make memories all around. Be sociable!
-You can collect little keepsakes that will be distributed by the hosts, whether it be ribbons, stickers, or more!
-Not everyone there will be a skull fur, nor is that a requirement. Everyone is welcome!
-Group photo guaranteed during the meet!
-Sign the community banner brought by one generous host and make your mark on a piece of skull furs history!
You now had one more question to ask and answer yourself: will you go over there and greet them as well?

Collaboration Confuzilication
2:00pm - 3:20pmDLCC - 401-402
Can you draw, doodle or scribble funny animals? Are you quick-witted? Play well with others? Then ""Collaboration Confuzilication!"" is for you!
Here's how it works: every player receives a formatted, 4-panel sheet of paper; a word will be chosen at random, and each player will have twelve minutes to draw a picture in the first panel based on that word. Then everyone passes their paper onto the person seated next to them, and a new word is selected for those people to draw a picture based on the new word for the second panel.
Sounds easy? Well, it’s not – because the new picture ALSO has to continue the story started in the previous panel! The process is repeated for the third and fourth panels until the page is filled with a masterpiece of collective creativity (and weirdness!).
We’ll supply that sheet of paper, but please bring your own pens, pencils, and erasers. Participation is limited to the first 40 people to arrive, but everyone is welcome to stay, observe the action (or take over from an artist who has to leave early) and enjoy the finished collaborations!
